 DeLand Senior Council and was
redirected from our regular meeting room in City Hall to another
one down the hall. At the meeting we were introduced to two
representatives of LOSpro, a new health resource company. After a
30-minute video presentation (the 'other room' rationale)
and some Q and A, I came away convinced that the web site that
these people have set up is an extremely valuable tool for DeLand
seniors. It can be reached at www.lospro.com
(I have no idea why they call it
LOSpro-they tried to explain it to us, but they obviously
didn't realize they were dealing with a real slow fellow). When
you reach the site, be prepared to be stunned. It is
absolutely loaded with information. Their brochure
says the following: ' LOSpro is a resource
management company that gathers, consolidates and presents local
medical resources in a user friendly format. A LOSpro portal is a
place where patients, families and medical professionals can go to
find accurate and relevant medical and social service
information.' Moreover, when you click 'DeLand' once
you're on the site you are treated with information that
focuses on you. You can find and tour nursing
facilities, see the state ratings of facilities (for the federal
ratings you have to go where we told you last month:
www.medicare.gov) hospice providers, locate home health
providers, order medical equipment, hire a geriatric care manager,
find social service programs, print government forms, research
medical conditions. Learn about your medications, research medical
conditions, and as the brochure says, truthfully, much, much
more.
Again, www.lospro.com . Check it out.
